The bovine leather is sourced from farms in Uruguay, known for their exceptional animal husbandry and high-quality leather. The tanning process takes place in Brazil and uses eco-friendly methods without any hazardous chemicals. VEJA follows all regulations and standards when using conventional dyes. Additionally, great attention is given to water conservation during the tanning process. The leather panels and upper feature leather, while the logo V is made from a blend of Amazonian rubber (26%), silica mineral (22%), synthetic rubber (14%), and other materials (38%). The insole is made from a mixture of Amazonian rubber (11%), biobased E.V.A.* (42% sugar cane), recycled E.V.A.* (11%), organic cotton (12%), and other materials (14%). The outsole is composed of Amazonian rubber (40%), silica mineral (23%), recycled rubber (10%), synthetic rubber (11%), and other materials (16%). The lining is made from 100% recycled polyester

VEJA

Since 2005, VEJA has been creating sneakers in a different way, mixing social projects, economic justice, and ecological materials.

VEJA uses Brazilian and Peruvian organic cotton for the canvas and laces, Amazonian rubber for the soles, and various innovative materials made from recycled plastic bottles or recycled polyester.

VEJA sneakers are produced in high-standard factories in Brazil and Portugal. The logistics of our VEJA stores in Europe and e-commerce are managed by Log’ins, a professional and social inclusion company.

The goal of our design studio is simple: create sneakers that will stand the test of time.

We take longer than other big brands to design our sneakers. We love designing sneakers that we'll be proud to wear in 10 years. The attention we bring to each step of the manufacturing process is thorough. We weren't designers at first, but we just put in the time, and that's what we became.

VEJA buys organic and agroecological cotton.

Directly from family producers, respecting fair trade principles, before weaving it into the canvas, laces, and uppers used in most of our VEJA styles.

One of the main raw materials for VEJA is Amazonian rubber.

More than 2600 tons of Amazonian rubber have been purchased from 2004 until the end of 2022.

VEJA buys it at 3.5 times the market price.

At VEJA, we use three types of bovine leather, all sourced from the southern regions of Brazil and Uruguay.

We work hand in hand with therse farms, ensuring that the animals are treated well and the enviroment is respected in the leather-making proccess.
